WOLF LAKE, NY
Wolf Lake got its name from its shape - look to the upper left side - it resembles a wolf's head. Wolf Lake is a man-made, private, non-motor boat lake. It is part of the D & H Canal system. Wolf Lake is a 329 acre lake with a depth of 10'. Two other bodies of water are Bass Pond with 26 acres, and Division Pond at 29 acres. The homes built around Wolf Lake are part of a private, members only community, encompassing over 1,700 acres. The road around the lake is 4-1/2 miles long. The lake is stocked with trout, bass and walleye and the fishing is great. The community features a supervised clubhouse with a full schedule of social activities for adults and children and a lifeguard is present at the beach area. Wolf lake also sports a rifle range, a ball field, and trails for the use of its members. For the most part, Wolf Lake is located in the Township of Thompson, and a small part, the East End, is in the Township of Mamakating.
