Charley & Mary Winston originally owned a lot of property including Camp Roosevelt.  In 1934 Charley Winston built the dam which made Sackett Lake a more viable body of water.  The lake feeds into Winston Pond which is located behind Roberts Road and is strictly used for fishing. Last year Sackett Lake was purchased and is now being maintained by the Volunteer Firemen’s Department.  A homeowners’ association has been formed to aid in the beautification of the lake area and to keep the lake stocked.
